Show O'BRIEN EASY FOR EVADOR Pacific Coast Boxer Has Salt Laker Helpless in Third Round. Salt Lalte, Feb. 2. Danny O'Brien, weak as a kitten either from making the weight or from sickness from which the local boxer claims he has Just recovered, was easy picking for Sally Salvador at the Garrlck last night. The coast boxer, If he had carried car-ried anything like a respectable punch, probably would have won in-side in-side the limit. Iate In the third round, while O'Brien was all in, a left to the wind toppled him over. He made an attempt at-tempt at claiming a foul, but Referee Downing counted nine. O'Brien practically prac-tically was helpless in this and the fourth round, but Salvador s punches were so light that they seldom rocked the weak O'Brien. Salvador showed a slightly Improved Im-proved form over his bouts with Gll-I Gll-I bert and Johnson. After finding out In the first round that O'Brien was In no condition to be in a ring, he was on top of his man from gong to gong. Outside of the first round, which practically prac-tically was even, Sally had the bout by a mile. In the seral-wfndup Pesty Ryan and Glen Gutke fought four slashing rounds to a draw. It was one of the best bouts that Downing had staged for the Manhattan fans this season. Ryan was faster with his left hand, and had Gutke's features badly mussed up, but the local scrapper scrap-per used a "one-two" that sent Pesty back on hlB heels time and again. Every Ev-ery round was fast. No time was lost, because neither had a desire to stall Battling Travis failed to show for his bout with Kid Davis, and Buddy Hunt was substituted , but outside of a pose Buddy had nothing, and Referee Ref-eree Downing stopped the bout before the end of the first round to save Hunt from further punishment. Davis simply toyed with the youngster. WILL PLAY IN OLD L, D. 8. U. GYM At a meeting held last night It was decided to play the remainder of the churoh league games at the old I D S. U. gym.
