Show ALLEGED SWINDLER CAUGHT IN EL PASO El Paso, Dec. 18. Arastun Chris tensen. believed to be the man who is alleged to have swindled large numbers of Mormons in Colorado and Utah out of sums of money ranging rang-ing from a few hundred to seeral thousand dollars, has been arrested here on information from Manassa, Colo., and is being held until the ar-rh ar-rh al of the Colorado officers. The specific charge made against b.lm in Manassa is the forging of a promissory uote purported to be that of Mr and Mrs. J A Morpan of Romeo, Colo., both of whom are said by the police to be .Mormons. The story from Alamosa said that Christiansen Chris-tiansen was cashier and one of the principal stockholders in the Romeo State bank, former treasurer of Conejos county and former president Of the Mormon colony at Manassa, and was reported to be short from $15,000 to $80,000 in his accounts at the bank. At that time it was supposed sup-posed that Christiansen had gone to Salt Iake to obtain financial aid from wealthy relatives, said to he residing in Utah.
