Show CHICAGO GRAIN Chicago. Dec. 19. Wheat swept ran-idly ran-idly higher today on a rush of buying buy-ing led by export houses. The result re-sult was a strong close at 1 1-2 to 2 3-8 above last night. Corn mad" a gain of 1-S5 1-4 to VSc net and oa's of 1-4. In provisions the outcome was unchanged to an advance of cents. Throughout the day evidences increased that Europeans were finding it decidedly more difficult to fill large orders for United States wheat than has heretofore been the case. All over the west exjKrters and millers were said to be competing for wheat reserves. Many offers here for wheat today 'went unfilled owing to the Inability of handlers to obtain supplies in the country even at sharply advanced pri ces. In this connection the fact was pointed out that export clearances for the last L'l hours overtopped the ag-PgT( ag-PgT( gate Ol primary receipts and that the clearances for the week, more than 11,000,000 bushels, would break all records. Corn hardened with wheat Rural offerings were light. After opening l-8c off to a like advance the market scored s little-upturn all around. Slowness Slow-ness formed the rule in oats. The markel however, gradually responded to the strength of other cereals Grain advances had a stimulating effect ef-fect OH provisions.
