Show willard expects: to win the belt Believes He Will Bring Back Heavyweight Title to the White Race. (By Jess Willard) As I have been asked to do one of the most difficult things in the v. orld write a story about myself I Will make a desperate effort to do so. There Is no doubt that the main reason I am in the limelight at pies ent is that I am matched to fight Jack Johnson for the heavyweight championship cham-pionship of the world. I wish to say right here that I believe that I will bring back the title to the white race. That may seem rather a chesty atement, but all will agree with me : thot if a man is not able to realize his worth in any line, even in boxing, he is working under a big handicap. If I suffer defeat at the hands of Johnson, no one will ever hear a chirp from me. Then and there I will be through with fighting I believe that a white heavyweight champion of the world would do more to boost boxing than If the title w ere held by a colored man. Even Johnson John-son will admit the truth of that argument, argu-ment, and other good dusky boxers,! like Jeanette and Langford, have I acknowledged that Johnson, being the Champion, put a damper on the game.
