Show u I ' I MRS. GARFIELD BOND IS STILL MISSING Blackfoot, Ida, Aug. 18 Mrs. Garfield Gar-field Bond, who disappeared from her husband's home Sunday night, ha not been found, although searching parties worked until late last night and resumed efforts at daybreak this morning There now seems no doubt about her having wandered from home during a period of mental Irresponsibility Irre-sponsibility Today dynamite has been discharged along the Snake river riv-er to bring her body to the surface In case she had been drowned. The river has also been dragged for some distance below the bridge to the east. A searching party under the direction of James Just worked from Presto southward; another party, under Dop uty Sheriffs Fackrell and Hull work ed the Blackfoot river east and north until they formed a Junction with the Presto purty. The only clew seems to be the report, re-port, of Peter T. Williams, who saw a woman eariy .ionuay morning dressed as Mrs. Bond is thought to have been dressed. This is confirmed confirm-ed by Joseph Marks, a farm hand at the next ranch, who also saw the same woman at about the same hour Oliver Teton, an Indian, also reports having seen ber farther east. To day's searchers found at a stream footprints corresponding to the size of Mrs. Bond's, but were unable to locate her It is now thought that if she Is able to move about she sees the searchers and hides. To defeat this searchers with field glasses have been posted at elevated points to watch the surrounding territory. Tonight To-night parties in boats, with strong reflecting lights, will search the bottom bot-tom of Snake river. |
