Show uu NURNBERG FLEW FRENCH FLAG AT FANNING ISLAND Vancouver, B. C, Nov 5 The Pacific Pa-cific cable which connects Canada with Australia was reopened today. It was put out of business September 7 when the German cruiser Nurn-berg Nurn-berg sailed up to Fanning island flying fly-ing a French flag and accompanied by a collier. Papers were taken from the' office and were transferred to the Nurnberg. These revealed the fact that spare instruments and arms and ammunition were buried In various parts of the Islands and that there was $3000 in the office safe. An officer went ashore, blew open the Bafe and took the money. The arms, ammunition and instruments were also destroyed |
