Show COPPER CANYON GOLD PLACER SUIT REPORTED ENDED News reached here last evening that Judge Farrington in the federal court had decided the case of the Glasgow & Western company vs. Murray Mur-ray Scott, J. J. Healy. Guy Davis and W. Van Normand In favor of the defendants, de-fendants, says the Humboldt Star. The report that reached here was that Attorney At-torney General Thatcher, the defend-ants' defend-ants' attorne3 had telegraphed f,rom Carson to them at Copper canyon that Judge Farrington had decided In their favor. The lawsuit Involves the title to the Horaestake and Guy Davis placer claims, which are said to be the richest rich-est In Copper canyon. The claims had been hold for several years by the Glasgow & Western and the defendants de-fendants located them a few months ago, claiming that the ground was open on account of the annual assessment assess-ment work not having been performed. The locators let a number of leases and work was going on and considerable consid-erable gold had been taken out when the Glasgow & Western brought suit to oust the locators and secured an Injunction restraining them aud the leasers from operations until the suit was finally decided. If the report of the decision in favor fa-vor of the miners is true, it will bo good news for Copper canyon, as it will mean the dissolution of the injunction in-junction and the resumption of work by leasers on the rich claims that have been tied up and tho employment of at least fifty more men in the camp. |
