Show HERRMANN UPHOLDS NEW WAIVE REE Cincinnati, March 27. August Herrmann, chairman of the National Basebal commission, said today that David Fultz, president of the Baseball Base-ball Players' Fraternity, had misinterpreted misin-terpreted the wording of the new rule in regard to tho 8o-called promotion waiver clause, and that the rule Is what the tratornlty demanded. The rule reads: "Before a major league player shall be released outright or under an optional op-tional agreement to a Class A or a lower classification, his services shall first be tendered to all Class AA clubs, at a privc not to exceed $1000, and then to all ClaBs A clubs at a price not to exceed $750." "I have written to Mr. Fultz and I don't believe any protest will be filed after he receives my letter," said Mr. Herrmann. |
