Show I: SULLIVAN-CONSIDINE CIRCUIT IS SOLD Kansas City, Mo., March 27. Marcus Mar-cus Loew of New York, N. Y for himself and others last night signed a contract tonight to purchase the Sullivan and Considine vaudeville circuit cir-cuit and properties for an amount that will exceed $6,000,000. Mr. Loew will take over the properties prop-erties August 1 next. The properties, which, are scattered throughout the country are owned jointly by John W. Considine and the estate of Timothy D. Sullivan, of New York City. Thirty-seven theatres thea-tres owned outright by the Sullivan-Considine Sullivan-Considine Interests and one hundred theatres, which the circuit books and has interests in, were involved in the deal. Mr. Loew, under the contract will pay the Sullivan-Considine forces $1,-500,000 $1,-500,000 for "good will" and an inventory inven-tory will be made for theatres and properties of the circuit at their present pres-ent value. Mr. Loew agrees to pay the amount the inventory calls for, which is estimated to bo between $4,-500,000 $4,-500,000 and $5,000,000. Mr. Considine represented his circuit in the transaction. trans-action. The conferences that led up to last night's agreement were participated in by Patrick Sullivan, brother of Timothy Timo-thy D. Sullivan, representing the Sullivan Sul-livan estate, Larry Mulligan, an own er of Sullivan & Considine stock; Emmanuel Blumenthal, O. I. Wise, H. C Robertson and Morris Kohn, air of New York; John E. Ludwlg of the Loew interests;, Aaron Jones, Chicago; Chica-go; Moses Opponeholmor, Spokane and G. K. Lincoln of Chicago. Mr Loew announced ho would combine the theatres involved in the deal with the houses he now owns. This will bring the number of theatres thea-tres now controlled by him up to two hundred. |
