Petitions for a reduced passenger and freight rate on the Short Line branch between be-tween Minidoka and Buhl are now in the hands of the state public utilities commission al Boise, A report from the commission is to the effect that the matter will be given early consideration. consid-eration. M. J. Sweeley. president of the Twin Falls Commercial club, has presented pre-sented in person a petition secured by the club from the residents of this city asking for a 3-cent passenger fare on the branch. Petitions were also secured by the Commercial clubs of Huhl, Filer, Rupert and Burley, forwarded for-warded to Boise and were presented by Mr. Sweeley in connection with the petition from this city. These petitions peti-tions represent and are in behalf of the residents all along the branch between be-tween Minidoka and Buhl. With the presenting of the passenger passen-ger rate petitions Mr. Sweeley was advised ad-vised by the commission that the necessary nec-essary information had been obtained for the filing of a petition for reduced freight rates on the -branch, and that the matter had been placed in the hands of Attorney General Peterson, and that the petitions In both classes would be filed without delay.
