Nov 13 Of Sec-j retary Wilson's Seattle speech before I the American Federation of Labor, condemning th policy of the Copper Mining companies of Michigan In the copper strike General Manager Jame MacNaughton of th Calumet , and Hecla Mining company last night Mr Wilson through representatives representa-tives of his department, ma.le a thorough thor-ough investigation of strike condi tJons Upward of twenty cl the mining min-ing companies answered a series ot 110 r(uestJons each "Mr. Wilson's criticism of the mines of this district Is based on the reply of one company to two of these questions those pertaining to cap'tallzation and to dividends. Evt dently Mr Wilson could find no fault with the answer to (he other 10S j questions asked the Calumet and H-c la Mining company or to the 110 questions asked each of the other companies. He selected for the purpose pur-pose of his confidential advanc statement answers to two question which had no bearing whatever on the controversy Such political bun-:. bun-:. comb Is worthy only of a "peanut pollt'cian."
