Show REVENUE OFFICE MAY STAY, BUT WH ALE Y FAVORS MOVE Butte, Mont . Nov 12 William C Whaley recently appointed internal revenue collector for the district of Montana, was in Butte today en route to Salt Lake to assume charge of the office there The transfer will take place next Monda morning, when E H CaHlster will turn over affairs to Mr. Whaley The revenue officers of Butte have received official notification of the transfer, and have been requested to send in all revenue stamps and a schedule of all government property In their possession by Friday, and to notify all who are accustomed to procure stamps to get a sufficient number to last until the transfer of the office is made Mr Whaley stated that he is not familiar with tho revenue service, and is entirely in the dark regarding possible pos-sible changes in the force or tho location lo-cation of his office. He says thot if he can possibly have the lieadquar ters transferred from Salt Lake to Butte, he will do so, but is under the lmpreselon that no change will bo made for some time, if at all Mr Whale came to Butte from his home In Townsend Mont , and leaves tonight for Salt Lake to consult con-sult with Mr Calllster before the formal transfer is made. |
