Show PULITZER BEQUEST IS ORDERED PAID New York, N Y., Nov 12 By a decree de-cree filed In the supreme court tho executors and trustees under the will of Joseph Pulitzer are directed to pav $700,000 to the New York Philharmonic Philhar-monic soclotv Immediately, with Interest Inter-est of 2 1-2 per cent since December 4, 1812. The decree was entered on a deel sion by Phoenix Ingraham, referee, In a proceeding brought by the Pulitzer Pul-itzer trustees to determine whether the Philharmonic society has complied with the terms of the will. Mr Pulitzer originallv left the society so-ciety $500,000 but in a codicil ho left as an additional bequest to the society soci-ety part of the Income from the fund set aside for his Bona. Joseph and Herbert Pulitzer, on condition that the Boclety had a paying membership of more than 1000. within three years after his death Tha trustees agreed to make a 5200,000 payment on account ac-count of this Income in case the referee ref-eree found that tho society had fulfilled ful-filled the terms Referee Ingraham reported that the society had 1059 members nnn is entitled en-titled to iho mom |
