Show oo IS OWNER OF PERSIAN PISTOL William Mathers of Plain City is the owner of a Persian flintlock pistol which is said to be more than 250 years old. The weapon is about IS inches in length, with a barrel two-thirds two-thirds the length of the entire weapon. The handle is of hand-carved gold plate. The pistol was given to Mr Mathers by Don Magulre of this city who has a collection of weapons both modern and ancient from almost every' ev-ery' country in the world Mr Mathers also possesses a rare collection of arrowheads made from obsidian. Among the number is one prized highly, a perfpctly shaped arrowhead ar-rowhead made by Oregon Indians It is sea-green in color and about two inches in length. According to Mr Mathers, the most perfect arrowheads anywhere in the f'nited States are those that are to be found west of Ogden on the shores of Great Salt Lake. |
