Btllwell on behalf of the Ogden pub licit y bureau for the plowing, harrow ing and fencing of the vacant lots to be usod by the school children of Og-den Og-den for agricultural purposes thm spring and summer. The work of preparing the ground for seed will begin be-gin Monday morning. Iniring the past two dayfl Mr Stil-well Stil-well has visited the owners of the land desired aud has secured their signatures to contracts allowing the use of the ground by the children, hev eral sites on the list prepared by the Civic league had to be abandoned be-( be-( ause ot the difficulty iu securing wa ter. It has been decided to abandon the plan of preparing titer. for the work of individual studentB, as the season is too far aloug and the finances will not warrant. With the exception of the Grant and the Junior High schools, every scho d in the city will hive a lot for cultivi lion as a body. Students are encouv-aced encouv-aced to cultivate a garden in their own lot or some vacant lot near home that can be eared for by them. The sites of the school gardens are- Lewis school Morthwest corner of Washington avenue and 7th street. Quincy Southwest corner of Quin-cy Quin-cy and li.-,th streets Lorin Parr Northeast corner of Quincy and $8rd street. Madison - Northwest corner of 23ri street and Mnd'son. High Northeast corner of Monroe and '26th street. Mound Port Corner of 13th street and Washington avenue. Five Points A lot on Third street, between Washington and the school. It was mpoeeibie to secure a lot for the Grant school because of the location loca-tion of the building In the vicinity o; the business district where vacant lots :ire scarce. The Junior High s'hools will not he given 'ots to cultivate because of the short time the pupils are In the schools. It w;p feared by the committee that the work would not be carried far along before the students would leave lor the High school.
