| Show ARCHIBALD MOWREY 18 TAKEN TO brigham CITY where he Is wanted to answer to the charge of ora stealing e from fridays standard archibald Y mowrey for many years a barber in this city and a dealer in horses tor the past ten years was arrested by sheriff J W bailey thursday morning at the request of sheriff josephson of bex elder county chero mowrey Is wanted tor horse stealing sheriff josphson came down from brigham ally this morning and took his prisoner up to thai place on the 1205 p m train the arrest of mowrey came as a great surprise he has many friends here and as always been a respectable and honest citizen mowrey claims that he la not guilty of the crime with which he Is charged while the box eldar county authorities state they have a clear case against him the particular crime with which mowrey Is charged Is said to have been effected when he purchased a number of horses and while driving them off included in the herd one that he had not purchased sheriff jo has been in ogden several times recently in connection with the case but not until a few days ago did he decide upon the arrest mowrey was detained at the county jail tuesday where he remained until he wag taken north today mrs mowrey wife of the prisoner accompanied her husband to brigham city the resided at twenty eighth street |
