Show py the trustees of alie state industrial school approved by gov wells the new site is the military academy and repairs and alterations will begin immediately other important matters disposed of met at the the board 0 trustees industrial school yesterday afternoon all members and governor wells were present the matter ot a new location was discussed at considerable the idea of erecting a new building on the inverne patch near the present structure was decided to be inexpedient mr david fair offered to sell the board a trait of land on the river bottom nonh of the present industrial school but the location was considered undesirable trustee string tain and gov wells who had been appointed a committee to wait upon F J keisel owner of the military academy reported that that building could be bought at a very low figure and it was decided to buy it trustees david evans and E stratford of the utah state school for the deaf dumb and blind appeared with a request that the industrial school move as quickly as practicable as the school for the deaf dumb and blind were desirous of occupying the present industrial school baidins ba idine as soon as possible aa provided hy the late legislature promise to comply with this request was given the application ot jno peterson the parole ot his four children was denied the monthly report of superintendent allison for may was submitted and or 4 derad filed the claims for supplies salaries etc tor the month of lay 1896 aggregating were allowed and warrants were drawn trustee rich reported that he had borrowed from J E dooly by pledging the state for as ee carity all warrants drawn since january 1 1896 will now be paid by presenting them to abo treasurer at the first national bank Ato Gov wells and the trustees above oui to inspect the military academy it ie estimated that it will cost about 2500 and take about six weeks to make thu repairs and alterations necessary before the can be moved from its present location bids for doing the plumbing and other repairs will bs advertised for soon the plumbing will probably be one of the largest items on the bill of repairs the military academy is a very desirable properly consisting of a fine four story brick building and other smaller buildings separated from alie academy that will be serviceable servi cable for work shops etc and seven acres of land the treasurer was authorized to borrow 1500 at 8 per cent for tho payment of current expenses |
