ONE T two railroad men were in the police court this morning mcentee of the 0 S L had one T mony baban arrested tor assault and the complaint alleges that the said mony nahan did strike said mcentee in the bead and face with his clinched fist the accident occurred on street and mcentee cays Mony nahan had no reason tor striking him while nahan says mcentee called him a bard name and then he hit him moknyna han formerly worked under mcentee the case will come up tomorrow morning one joe Pett lnell was arrested charged with disturbing the peace of his former wife angline she was in he put up 25 tor his appearance and the case will be heard tomorrow WANTED FOK embezzlement SHERIFFS OFFICE PICKS UP A COUPLE OF MEN there were two men wanted at salt lake yesterday and they were both picked up by the sheriffs office yesterday evening almost as soon as they were called for one of them was the man wanted and the other was the name but not the man the first was S H adler who was awaiting trial in the district court at provo his case beon set for today ha was out on bonds of and his bondsmen yesterday withdrew and the officers wanted their man and wanted him badly embezzlement was the charge and an effort was made to locate him he was not at provo and finally the sheriffs office was notified here and they sent their man down last night the other was a different one the salt lake officers wanted a man named H C stewart a collector for the scribners sons co the description was of a man 43 years old scar on forehead and bald the name ot H C stewart was found on the register at the chapman house and deputy sheriffs bailey and cave went up to get their man in the room they found II 11 C stewart but he was a man of twenty one years of age with full head of hair and no scars or brands it developed that H C stewart had taken up the work of one E V atchison who answers to the first description crip tion and while he represented the company mentioned was not the man wanted he was at once released and left this morning for denver his home the officers are still looking tor atchison and the charge in this case is embezzlement also so ENGINES TWENTY ORDERED OF THEM ARE NOW consolidated soli dated type they will continue to arrive at the rate ot two per week until the order Is completed MAX KILLED RUN OVER AND MANGLED BY A FREIGHT NEAR FENLON early this morning the section men at fenlon 20 miles west of wells found the mangled remains ot a man on the track ot the southern pacific there was nothing on the body or in tho clothes to show who the man was and the remains were turned over to the coroner the manner ot his death is unknown but appearances indicate that he was a tramp and had possibly fallen asleep lost his hold and fallen between the cars he had discussion ot sociological subjects under the leadership of prof engle the society should be a valuable addition to the educational influences of ogden REDUCED TIME TO PORTLAND portland ore april 12 A double passenger train service will be inaugurated april 22 between portland and chicago by the oregon railroad navigation company the oregon short line and he union pacific in connection with the chicago northwestern under the new schedule the east bound time will be shortened 11 hours and the west bound time 2 hours and 45 minutes one train will leave portland at a m and another at p m the east bound trains will arrive at portland at and 4 p m the train leaving portland at p m will carry the equipment tor the washington division of the 0 R N in connection with the great northern for st
