' The Republicans of Weber county, particularly thc Progressive Republicans, must bear in mind that they virtually disfranchise themselves, if they fail on next Thursday to participate in the party primaries which are to elect delegates to tho state convention which in turn is to select delegates to tho Chicag6 convention. It is shirking a duty to neglect to attend these primaries, and, if you are a Roosevelt adherent, the. neglect is almost a crime against good government. With tho naming of the Utah delegates, the fate of Roosevelt will be sealed, 6o far as this state is concerned. Every citizen who feels that the Taft candidacy should be defeated de-feated and that Roosevelt should bo called to lead the Republican party, must act on Thursday next or forfeit his right to a voice in national affairs. There is so much at stake in this mighty contest within the Republican Re-publican party that no one of that politicaU faith can be excused from rogiBtering his preference for Presidont at the Thursday primaries. pri-maries. Roosevelt is a protest against corrupt pra-ctices 'in national government and a vote for him helps make that protest effective. If you are not in harmony with the Standpatters, who believe in the bosses ruling, then stir yourself sufficiently to go to thc primaries pri-maries and there make known your opposition to the reactionaries. A vote in the primaries is more important and promises greater results than any vote you may cast at the general election, |
