M Hilles, chairman of the Republican M national committee, issued a state- M ment today covering the alleged M agreement between Taft representa- M tives and William Fllnn, representing M Colonel Roosevelt, in Pennsylvania. M Mr Hilles said: H "We have received a proposition M from Mr. Flinn, in which ho has of- M ferod to withdraw tho Roosevelt M electors from the Republican ticket M and substitute Taft eleotors in their M places. The offer was made by Mr. H Fllnn in Philadelphia last Wednesday M to Henry C. Wasson, Republican H state chairman, and William T. Til- H den, president of tho Union league H club, of Philadelphia." Mr. Fllnn H estimated that it would take nearly H the whole month of September to pre- jH pare the petitions. H "I assume tint' Mr. Flinn Is able jH to do this and that he will do It In H good faith." said Mr. Hilles. "Our H only objection to Fllnn's Republican H state ticket now is that it has namps H of Roosevelt men on It ns electors. H With thoso removed wo will not on- H pose any of the rest of the ticket" H |
