Tho Lions are near- j? pennant winners, and they came up lj out of their native Warren with the J scare of many battles well fought and R honestly won, showing proudly in the L score book, whereat tho Bulldogs felt fl themselves fill up with a desire to O "do something," and they did They rolled un a score of something like j 17 against 3 for the Lions. Besides, they performed many star stunts. For w instance, "Dugin" Maw went skyward T with the graco and certainty of a a; jumping-Jack and "glombed" a liner f from above. Ho was applauded. Again, "Gordy" Thompson, at a risky i moment, threw the ball twonty-soven j feet over the third baseman's head. ? Several Lions were caged on bases at the time, and they foond their way j home in safety. But for this, it is said that the Lions "would have been i "skunked."
