Show DRY fi IN MM COUNTY Dr. W. J Drowning has roturned from an extended trip to southern Utah whero, with other Ogdcn people, he Is Improving a large acreage of dry farm land. The property owned by tho Ogdon poople ia situated near the little railroad rail-road station of Lund and near tho now town of New Castle whore a large hotel Is being built. Those Interested In that locality are former Chief of Police Thomas E. Browning, T. C. Carr. Dr. E. M. Conroy, Dr W. J. Browning, and former for-mer Chief of Detectives James Pender, Pen-der, and they are all enthusiastic over tho prospects. "While the lands are In a desert country, the investors sav that surface water Is obtained at a depth of from ten to fifteen feet and that flowing arteBian water is secured at from SO to 150 feet, filling a six-Inch casing. The lands aro rich and productive and it is expected by the Ogden people peo-ple that tho country will become one of tho most prolific In southern Utah Th0 land lies In 'he southwestern part of Iron county and Is only a few miles west of tho Codar City district, whore thero aro unlimited quantities of coal and iron. |
