It Is more than probablo that Rocksand, the horse for which August Belmont paid $125,000, will be leased to a syndicate of French breeders for the noxt two years. Jn an Interview with Mr. Belmont he admitted that he had given an op-lion op-lion on the horse to the French syndicate syn-dicate Rocksand has proved many times that he Is a successful progenitor of high class horses, ono of hl8 daughters daugh-ters having won the French Oaks, and his son, Tracery, finished third in the English Derby this year, beating many of the crack English horses. He also won the St. James' Palace stake In England. The sons and daughters of Rocksand Rock-sand have been winning races at all ages in England, Franco. Canada and the United States Mr Belmont claims the offer that has been made to him for this high-class thoroughbred thorough-bred Is an exceptional one. and that If he accepts It It will be for two years only, whon, in all probability, ho will be brought back to this country. |
