Show VESSELS IN COLLISION Steamers Collide in a Heavy Fog Off Coast of Maine. Rockland, Maine, July 30. The steamer City of Rockland, bound for Boston, was In collision today in a fog with tho colllor William Chisholm. The accident Is reported to hax'o occurred oc-curred thirty miles northeast of Boone island All ot the passengers on board the City of Rockland were safely transferred trans-ferred to tho steamer Belfast, bound from Boston for Rochester. The City of Rockford was taken in tow by tho Belfast after the passengers had been transferred. Tho steamer xvas taking in watr rapidly. Later three tugs took her In town and the revenue cutter Gresham left Boston to go to her assistance. |
