Morris of Salt Lake, and received sentences of 90 days each on the rock pile The men entered a plea of not guilty and sought to explain their actions ac-tions in connection with tho grip by stating that they were drunk, but the cross-examination brought out such discrepancies in their testimony that the judge was convinced of their guilt. On overtaking the mon, Morris compelled him to bring it back to tho corner and In the meantime Jensen came up and told Morris that he had made a mistake mis-take in grips. Morris stated that the "bluff didn't go with him and, after advising tho men to "beat it," he allowed them to go. Shortly afterward, G. Burton, a hack driver, informed Patrolman Thomas Rackham of tho occurrence and the latter followed them, placing them under arrest. Both prisoners made lengthy explanations ex-planations of their acts, but became so involved In thoir weird story that the judge disposed of the case by sentencing each to 90 days. |
