Show WIRE RATES ARE CALLED UNJUST "Washington, Sept, 9. Reasonableness Reasonable-ness of telegraph and cablo rates was attacked today by William N White & Co. of New York In a complaint against the Western Union Telegraph company to the Interstate Commerce commission. The complaining concern contends that rates are fixed arbitrarily, arbi-trarily, that the handling of press dispatches dis-patches at one-fourth the rate charged commercial business subjects tho general public to "unduo prejudice and disadvantage," and that tho Western West-ern Union has bought up smaller companies com-panies and eliminated competition In violation of commerce laws. Tho New York concern aaks reparation repar-ation In the sum of $5,000, which it claims the telegraph company has collected col-lected in overcharges on cablegrams and telegrams. |
