Show 1 TOMS I AT ORPHEUM. '"Uncle Josh Perkins" made one of his seml-occaslonal visits to Ogden last evening, nnd Ed Short and his orchestra celebrated the occasion by Inking a lay-off, leaving the field clear for an imported orchestra of four pieces, which dispensed the Shelltown classics through four acts and three Intermissions, to the somewhat stilled still-ed approval of only a fair sized Sunday Sun-day night audience. Unr-Ie Josh is about the same as over, so are his jokes, ana he got tho usual number of laughs and some sympathy. sym-pathy. The play is mediocre and tho company com-pany ditto, with the exception of D. P. Kennedy as Uncle Josh, Josio Iu-man Iu-man as Rags and Ed Barnes as Hiram Hi-ram Green. Tho antics or tho lattor during act three, especially during tho dinner scene, really .furnished the six bits' worth of entertainment, and before tho mcnl was over every one present was almost convulsed with laughter of tho most healthful kind. Green also did a monologue and song specially that drew some applause. |
