Thomn- ouu " ".e, --uoni. tiis cneery voice, expressive of true happiness, seemed ever to strike the ffrst Joy-note of the June-time celebrations, so with fitting solemnity, the minor tone of Uie requiem was the greeting that Sacred Heart's alumnae poured forth on the morning air, petitioning the God of Consolation to hearken to the soul prayers of grateful friends. At 7:30, the sisters, the 3tudent body, the Alumnae association, and a number of the other devoted friends, were gathered before the great white throne to assist -at the solemn requiem, re-quiem, the-colebrant of which was the Reverend J. Guinan, S. M.. of Atlanta, formerly president of All Hallows college, col-lege, Salt Lake; deacon, thw- Reverend Rever-end M. J. Murphy of San Francisco, a fohmer vice president of All Hallows: Hal-lows: sub-deacon, the Reverend P. M Cushanhao of St. Joseph's church,' Ogden. The mournful strains of th liturgical liturgi-cal Gregoria requiem were chanted b- a choir composed exilusively of members of the Alumnae association. Misses I. Maione, '09; B. How deep and tender is the heart of Mother Church than can hold so cloBely and so vitally vital-ly our Joya and otir griefs I Who dreamed on that bright June morning that todny the genial smile would be missing, the loving heart stilled? Though somewhat lacking in tho physical strength of former years, commencement of 1911 found Father Thompson's vitality as exhilarating as of old. and his Joyous spirit as contagious con-tagious as over, for ho possessed the happy arc of concenling his ailments a trait that accompanied him every step of life's Journey until that December De-cember morning, when he sought rest In the Heart of a God whom he had served so faithfully. Born In New York, Father Thompson Thomp-son found In this great west, a responsive re-sponsive people, hospitable like his own generous nature, energetic and progressive, and ho left In Montana, hosts of friends, to whom his name will ccr be a synonym of that "love and friendship that bear the royal seal of sacrifice as consecration to Eternal Love." To us at Sacred Heart, his place win never oe iinea, ior no possessed a personality that earth docs not repeat, re-peat, a constancy seldom seen and a genuineness rarely reproduced. We feel that ho is with us in spirit, and will bless our Jubilee Week of 1912. even as his benediction attended all previous celebrations at the academy he loved so well Thus shall all our past reunions be but a foretaste of future Joys, for we know "That when the end shall come, our hearts shall bo Forever one. dear Lord.
