Show BENEFIT TOWT F08 THESTRPKERS The advance sale of tickets for the striking shopmen's athletic benefit at the Orpheum theater this evening indicates that thero will be no unoccupied un-occupied seats when the curtain Is raised at 8:15. The excellent program which has been arragned consists of sir athletic events five wrestling bouts and ono boxing bout. The main event of tho card Is tho wrestling bout between Alex Swan-son Swan-son and Arthur Chester. It will bo necessary to limit this bout but both men aro out lor a decision and the 1 going will bo fast. Swanson was giv en a decision over Chester at Brig-ham Brig-ham City on Peach Day but It was conceded to be somewhat of a fluke decision. Swanson will go onto the mat this evening at 154 pounds while Chester is about four pounds lighter. Another interesting bout, although an exhibition affair, will bo tho match between Mike Yokel and Ed. Ferguson. Fergu-son. Tho fireman wrestler outweighs the middleweight champion by many pounds and tho match will be largely a case of main strength against science. This will bo the first opportunity op-portunity of the Ogden wrestling fans to see Yokel in action this season. The preliminaries to the two main events consist of three good preliminary prelim-inary wrestling bouts between the best local men and a six round exhibition ex-hibition boxing match between two fast lightweights. Those who contemplate attending the benefit would do well to -procure their tickets early as hundreds of tickets are being sold by persons wishing to aid the strikers. An excursion ex-cursion train from Brigham City and Salt Lake will doubtless bring several sev-eral hundred fans to tho city this evening. oo |
