Show PICTURES AT CARNEGIE LIBRARY Recognizing the educational advantages advan-tages to be derived from opportunities tn seo good art. the public schools of the city have arranged with the A V. Bison compan of Boston for an art exhibition of some to hundred hun-dred pictures to be held In the Car-nesJe Car-nesJe Library, December 12 to 15, Inclusive. This collection, consisting in a large part of carbons and photogravures made directly from the original masterpieces, mas-terpieces, is selected by art experts and should attract large crowds. Tho purpose of the exhibition Is tllus clearly twofold First. To give the people, especially especi-ally the students of the schools, an opportunity to see a collection of the world's famous masterpieces of painting, paint-ing, sculpture and architecture. Second. To make It possible for tho public to own some of these excellent pictures, and to place them where they may ho seen dally by the six thousand thous-and hoys and girls in our schools People are awakening to the importance im-portance and value of gpod art as creative cre-ative of a refining Influence and inspiring in-spiring atmosphere, and as the boys and girls becomo familiar with the best in art, crude art with Its low ideals will bo displaced through the appreciation of something better The exhibit v,) be open next Tuesday Tues-day from- 10 a m until 9 30 p. m It will be open on the same liqrtrs on I Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The children of the public schools will visit the exhibit during the day. A schedule is being arrangod so that no two schools will visit the exhibit at tho same time. This plan will prevent pre-vent crowding and hotter enable the children to study and enjoy the pictures. pic-tures. Tt is likoly that one of the evenings will be reserved for the students of the High school and tne suh-High school. The reception committee will provide pro-vide each day and evening two or three persons who will explain the pictures, and the program committeo plans to furnish music aTid other entertainment. en-tertainment.
