Show EXAMINER BUYER WAS IN OGPEN J. U. ELDREDGE, THE MAN WHO PURCHASED THE MORNING MORN-ING EXAMINER, WAS IN OGDEN YESTERDAY AND ANNOUNCED AN-NOUNCED THAT HE WOULD NOT TAKE POSSESSION POSSES-SION OF THE PAPER FOR A FEW WEEKS, AS HE WANTS TO PRINT THE PAPER FROM HIS OWN PLANT. g J. U. Eldredge, Jr., who entered Into a contract to buy tho Morning Examiner, Ex-aminer, made the second payment of tho purchase prico yesterday and elected to exorclso his right to take possession of the paper any lime before be-fore March 1 by taking over the paper some time In February. Mr. Eldredge prefers to have the paper printed at his own plant when ho takes possession posses-sion of the paper, The linotype machines ma-chines are manufactured In New York and It will take thirty daya for tho machines to arrive after shipment, and the press will probably come from Chicago. It will require two weeks to get the machinery In ordor It may be that the llnotypo machines cannot bo shipped for some time, as the factory fac-tory Is behind with orders If everything every-thing works smoothlv Mr. Eldredge may got his plant going by the middle of February. If, however, he Is unfortunate un-fortunate enough to ho unable to get his linotype machines he will either have to let the Standard print his paper pa-per for him for thirty days or six weeks or delay taking possession of tho paper It was stated that tho Hurst building on Hudson avenue will bo the now home of the Examiner, although al-though Mr. Eldredge would neither confirm nor denv the statement Mr Eldredge has also been considering consid-ering a building on Washington avenue. av-enue. It Is reported that all preliminary prelimi-nary arrangements for the Installation of the newspaper plant are practically completed Until the transfer Is made tho present management will continue the paper and there will be no change of rates In either subscription or advertising ad-vertising price to the transfer. |
