Show SURPRISE PARTY. A number of Mr. T. A. Matthews friends surprised him on his birthday birth-day Tuesday evening of last week, when they arrived for a delightful evening In his honor. A four-course supper followed a morrj' evening devoted de-voted to cards, music and general social so-cial diversion. Mrs Mabel Moon and Mrs. James Ballard won first and booby prizes respectively and Henry Wessler and Mr Ballard v;ere tho winners of tho prizes in the same order. A beautiful beau-tiful birthday cake surmounted by the number of candles corresponding to the number of Mr Matthews' birthday birth-day anniversaries was a protty feature fea-ture of the dining tablo and the protty prot-ty tablo decorations and carefully arranged ar-ranged viandB made a pretty scene-Toasts scene-Toasts to the host and compliments to the gracious hostess were offered and gay repartee Intermingled with reminiscences completed the pleasant affair. |
