An oplum- B imoklng establishment at No. 7 Plum H II illoy was raided JaBt night by Patrol- H Jicn Olson and Frantz, three arrests H I nade and three complete oplum- H , Jmoklng outfits confiscated. The H- place was regarded by the police to H be one of the worst in town and tho H raid was planned and engineered by L Lieutenant Carlson Ht Wo Hop, Chinese, aged 55 years, P was arrested on the felony charge of Hj conducting an opium-smoking estab- H ' llshraent Grace Stewart, aged 24 B ' years, and L. K. Grist, aged 30 years, H ' were arrested on a charge of frc- H quenting such an establishment. In H iddition to the three smoking outfits, H ' t can of yen shec and two cards of H gum opium were taken by tho police H to bo used as evidence. H Another alleged opium-smoking es- H tablishmcnt in the same alley, across H from No. 7, was raided, but no arrests Hj were made. H While the two alleged opium dens H wero being investigated. Patrolmen H Beynon and Egbert raided a rooming H house at 52 Plum alley. Five men H were arrested in this "establishment H on pharges of agrancv.
