Show MUCH INTEREST t COURT JCIS1 Tho ruling the state supreme court which announced yesterday thnt prosecutions pros-ecutions for violations of liquor laws brought under statutes In effect prior to passage of the new state law are Invalid, has aroused much Interest throughout the- state. Tho clerk of tho supreme court was deluged yesterday yes-terday with requests from many portions por-tions of tho state for copies of the court's decision, and many similar re-, quests are expected today. The ruling of the state's highest tribunal was no surprise to a majority of stato officials. A. R. Barnes, attorney at-torney general of the state, points out I that tho decision does not affect ordinances ordi-nances passed in compliance with tho provisions of the state law, and I. E i Wllley, county attorney of Salt Lake I county, urges that municipalities pass ordinances in conformity with the new state law. This will give city authorities author-ities the right to prosecute in tho courts on violations of the state statute. |
