Tho thirty-ninth extra session of the California Cali-fornia legislature adjourned at 2 45 o'clock today, after the enactment of a law reapportioning the congressional congres-sional districts of the state in accordance accord-ance with tho Inst federal coiibus, which Increases California's - national representatives from eight to eleven. The congressional redisricting was in doubt until the closing hours of the session, and an emergency bill providing pro-viding for the nomination of congresc-man-at-largo was rushed through Tho California direct primary law contains no provision for the election of congressman-at-large, and if neither of the two measuros had passed today the state would not have gained Its additional representation. The northern half of the state wins oer the south in the redivision, receiving re-ceiving two out of the three districts. Congressman William Kent is placed in a new district with Judge C.
