SALT LAKE, Dec 24 Tho headquarters head-quarters of the Salvation Army and the Volunteois of America were the scenes of bustle and activity yesterday morning, when hundreds of poor families fami-lies with proper credentials appeared to claim their well-filled baskets The two organizations paasod out nearly COO Christmas baskets. It -was a scene in which the pathetic pathe-tic blended with tho humorous. The baskets, when filled to capacity, weighed thirty pounds. One little girl about eight years old staggered down Second South street with this unwieldy un-wieldy bin den held tightly in both hands. The package seemed bigger than the girl, but her faco beamed with a happy smile as she tugged desperately des-perately at the package a few stoos and then set it down to rest She i lived on the wst s'de, but she was not a bit discoiiraed.
