Show SAINTS' TRIBUTE TO WAHETER1S The Latter-day Saints ot the Sixth Ward paid a tribute of respect to the veterans of the Civil War last evening when memorial services were conducted con-ducted at the meeting house. Members Mem-bers of Dlx-Lodge Post, G. A- R. the W.R.C., and Ladies of tho G.A.R. wore the guests of honor. Appropriate decorations of flags, pictures, and G.A.R. pennants added to tho general success of thc meeting. The spacious auditorium of the meeting meet-ing house was completely filled and many wero unable to gain entrance. The Memorial address was delivered by Mayor William Glasmann and at tho request of tho veterans, the mayor met and shook hands with the members mem-bers of the G.A.R. and auxiliary or- jjanizations afteij the meeting. Tho complete Memorial program as carried out last evening was as follows: Prelude, Patrofeilc "Overture Ernest Oborn ' America " Chapel Choir Invocation, G.A.R. Memorial Service Ser-vice Prayer .. Chairman Star-Spangled Banner".. Chapel Choir Benediction ..Pres. Thos. B. Evans This is among the first meetings of the kind ever held by tho Mormon church of the city and was largely duo to the efforts of Alfred Saxey, Jr. The program was arranged by a joint committee of the Young Men's and Young Ladles' Mutual Improvement Improve-ment Ioagues, composed of Mrs A. G. Maw, chairman; J. H. Chamlcrs, jr, Miss Lillian Wright, Ernest Oborn, organist; Hcbor Oborn, musical musi-cal director. |
