In honor of her seventh birthday, Miss Lucile Purrington, 2650 Lafayette Lafay-ette avenue, gave a lawn party Monday Mon-day aftornoon, to which a number of her little friends came, bringing appropriate ap-propriate gifts. A variety of games were played, after which a dainty luncheon was served. The little hostess host-ess entertained her guests in a charming charm-ing manner and they departed for home, wishing her many happy returns of the day. Craft, 2555 Fowler avenue After the business session Miss Clara Moshor of Cleveland, Ohio, randered in a charming way a number of poetic selections, humorous, sentimental, pathetic pa-thetic and philosophic, In oach of which she seemed equally happy. The Baptist union was so much impressed with Miss Moshcr's study of tho authors au-thors and her pleasing and instructive Interpretation of their writings, that they engaged her to give anYcvenlng of readings, with pantomimes, choruses, cho-ruses, and living pictures by children, on some date (or two dates) In September. Sep-tember. BACK FROM COAST. Mr. and Mrs.Thomas Fitzgerald, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Geo. P. McCabe of Washington, D. C., and two children, chil-dren, Miss Kathryn Fitzgerald and Anthony Fitzgerald, returned from a four-weeks' tour of California, reporting report-ing a most delightful trip. At San Diego, Los Angeles, Cata Una, Santa Barbara and Pasadena an especially pleasant sojourn was made, hut at San Francisco the weather was a little too cool for comforL CHRISTIAN LINKS. The ladies of Christian Link circle cir-cle arc meeting with Mrs. Geo. W. Driver at her home, 230 Twenty-ninth street, this afternoon. A pleasing and Interesting program Is being carried out, musical numbers being interspersed and the usual dainty luncheon served. MOYES-RUPE. The wedding ceremony uniting Miss Margaret Moyes of this city and Or-ville Or-ville Rupo of Evanston, Wyoming, will take place at the Moyes home, 3219 Lincoln avenue, this evening at S o'clock. LINCOLN CIRCLE. The ladles of Lincoln Circle No. 2, will meet at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at K. P. hall. All members arc requested to attend. Mrs. Thomas F Rowlands and her daughter. Miss Rowlands, left Mondav cvonlng for California where they will rotnaln for two weeks, making an automobile tour of the state. Upon their return Miss Rowlands will leave shortly after for Belmont college, at Nashville, Tenn., where she will pursue pur-sue her studies for a year. Mrs. Francis Ritter of RIvcrdalo, was the guest of Mrs. W. M. Bostaph csterday at her home, 3060 Washington Wash-ington avenuo and will visit for a few days this week with various friends in Ogden. |
