Show MINISTER OF WAR SUDDENLY-STRICKEN, Paris, Feb. 23. Gen. Brun. minister of war on tho cabinet of Premier Brl-and. Brl-and. dropped dead, from a paralytic stroke at tho ministry office today. Gen. Brun was stricken a few moments mo-ments after ho had received the members mem-bers of his staff in his prhatc office. r- Gen. Brun entered the cabinet formed form-ed by Briand in July, 1900. when tho Clcmenceau ministry retired. He had been head of the general staff of tho armv four and a half years and was a personal friend of President Fal-lories. Fal-lories. Ho was born In 1819. Gen. Brun was enthusiastic over tho possibilities in, the development of aeroplanes and dirigibles for use by the French army and encouraged frequent experiments. Last fall ho gave a luncheon in honor of the aviators avi-ators then In Paris. Later he announced an-nounced rewards for tho aeronauts who participated in the army maneuvers maneu-vers at Grand Yilliers. |
