Show Hi '"BLIND TIGER" AND DEATH. U& "blind tiger" was raided in American Fork, south of Provo,. 91 on Thursday. Barrels of beer and kegs of whiskey were confiscated. I I The raid followed the joyridc of six Provo boys, in which one J I of the boys was killed and four seriously injured. The officevs 1 learned that the young men had driven to the town in an auto for the f purpose of obtaining liquor, and, after visiting the "blind tigor," i had commenced the race with Death. I What an impressively sad demonstration of the folly of trying J to prohibit the use of strong drink by making it possible for one city to go "dry" while a neighboring city is "wet" While the two Utah county towns of Provo and American Fork were supposed to be "dry," one of them was so "wet" that Provo boys knew they r i could get all the liquor they desired by making the trip to American 5 Fork, and so they made the journey, entered the illicit place, bought their liquor and then commenced their joy ride. How many similar joy rides will be indulged in between here and Salt Lake, if |
