Show HARRIS AND HULANlSKi SLATED It is reliably reported tnat Governor Gov-ernor Spry tomorrow will appoint District Dis-trict Attorney N. J, Harris judge of the Second district court and that i Judge E. T. Hulaniski will receive the appointment as district attorney. Stato Senator Kuchler was in tho city last night and he stated that K was understood that the appointments appoint-ments as above will bo made by tho governor. . There Is some question, however, as to the appointment of Judge Hulaniski, as city attorney Do Vino, backed by an olement In tho Republican ranks, Is being urged. It is claimed that, in the appointments appoint-ments about to bo made, one should be handed to a Mormon, the other to a Gentile. Harris was the choice from tho Mormon ranks, but a ques- ' tion arisos as to who shall bo selected from the other side or tho religious fence, Mr. Harris states that ho has not been advised of the determination of tho governor to appoint him judge, but that his friends have told him that they thought the chief executive had made up his mind to do so. Ho states that he will be prepared to open court Monday morning, If tho appointment is made before that time, his private affairs having beon I so arranged as to permit of the change. Some of tho politicians who have kept in close touch with tho situation state that there is no question but that the governor will appoint Halu-xiiskl Halu-xiiskl to the attorneyship. This ap-pointment ap-pointment will follow the resignation of Attorney Harris, which will be I handed in at the time of his appointment appoint-ment to the judgeship. |
