Show 06DEN HAS 6R0WN, BE SAYS Joseph Holland, ono of tho old-time conductors on the Southern Pacific, is visiting friends in Ogden. For a number of years Mr Holland has been a resident of Nevada, being the proprietor, up (o a year ago, of a hotel at "Wabuska, near Yerlngton. The former conductor first came to Ogdcn In 1S79. At that time the town was emerging from a village and board sidewalks, in wet weather, carried car-ried pedestrians over the mudholes and stray -rivulets on lower Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth street. Mr. Hollnnd says he can scarcely recognize that this is the site of the t'gden of those earlier days. He was here on a short visit six years ago and is agreeably surprised with the growth of the city since then. |
