Show Former Residents Of ' Smithfield Reunion Held Bj SYLVESTER LOW j Liberty Park in Salit Lake City, was the scene of a very fine reunion re-union of former Smithfield resi- - dents and friends at their annual .gathering, Sunday August 4th. A large number of Smithfield resi- president; Noble Handy, first vice president; Harlow Hjelte, second vice president: Mrs. Earl Smith, secretary and treasurer; Bene-1 Bene-1 diction by Noble Handy. The next annual gathering will be held the first Sunday in Aug-just Aug-just 1941. -dents were also present. ; The time for the gathering was Bet for 2 p. m. and the park sup-ertendent sup-ertendent had reserved an ideal . location with plenty of shade and . tables. Old neighbors, relatives and friends greeted each other, introducing their grown up sons and daughters as their faces .beamed with joy at meeting acquaintances ac-quaintances of days gone by. At 3 p. m. they sat down to tables loaded with good things to eat from their box lunch baskets. . During the lunch they were entertained en-tertained with sola's, duet's and .group music by the lovely girls and boys of Professor Timothys music class. One number in particular part-icular by the smallest girl in the .group entitled, "In The Garden" drew much applause, sine responded respon-ded to an encore with another equally beautiful number. After lunch, the following prog ram was rendered: Community singing, led by Mrs. Sarah Mc Cracken; prayer, by Joseph Richardson; Speech of welcome, by W. Mont Timnions who introduced G. E, KingsSord as Master of Ceremonies; instrumental in-strumental Music, by the Accord-ian Accord-ian band; A Toast to tlie pioneers of Smithfield, by Mrs- Effie Greene: Accordian solo, by 7 year old Miss Timothy; Talk.s by Sylvester Syl-vester Low, Oliver Nilson, Darwin Sorenson and Edwin Miles; Re cltion, Annie Miles; Reading, by -Albert Mc Cann; Election of officers off-icers as follows; G.
