Ludlow Lists Student Events First week events at Utah State Agricultural college, designed design-ed to acquaint new students with campus life, were listed by Student Stud-ent Body President Dan Ludlow , of Spanish Fork. The older girls will aid the freshmen with any problems that may arise during dur-ing the week. "Little sisters" will be honored at a freshman tea scheduled for' the afternoon of Sunday, September 30 in the women's wom-en's lounge of the Commons building. build-ing. Climax of registration day activity, ac-tivity, will be a series of stud-entbody stud-entbody events beginning at 7 p. m., Mr. Ludlow said. A tour of the campus will be under direction of Professor H. Reuben Reynolds and Professor Moyle Q. Rice. Purpose is to introduce all new students to major campus buildings and review re-view some of the campus traditions. tradi-tions. An assembly at 8 p. m. in the college auditorium will feature a short welcome address by Dr. Franklin S. Harris, president of USAC, introduction of student body officers, community singing, and other get-acquainted activities. activi-ties. Following the assembly, a no-date dance will be held in the field house. Tuesday at 11 a. m., during the regular chapel hour, a get-acquainted assembly will be held under direction of students and faculty officials. Official opening of the Logan Institute is scheduled for Tuesday Tues-day at 8 p. m., and will include a combined concert and reception, according to Dr. W. W. Richards, Institute director. Professor J. J. Keeler, Brigham Young University organist and other musicals will appear on the program, followed by an informal reception. |
