Show Marriage Mill Grinds Slower . Cupid's activity in Cache county, coun-ty, one of Utah's marriage centers, cent-ers, declined during the year 1944, according to Marjorie Tib-bitts, Tib-bitts, deputy county clerk. A total of 353 marriage licenses were issued during the year by the clerk's office, compared with 387 in 1943. A large percentage of the couples were from Idaho and most of the prospective bridegrooms were in uniform, she continued to be the popular popu-lar month for getting married. Fifty four licenses were issued during that month both in 1943 and 1944, according to Miss Tib-bitts' Tib-bitts' records. A breakdown of licenses issued each month, with 1944 figures listed first and compared to 1943, follows: January, 27 and 19; February, 27 and 25; March, 20 and 26; April, 31 and 19; May. 30 and 40; June, 54 and 54; July 30 and 37; August, 28 and 15; September, 30 and 37; October, 33 and 38; November, 24 and 40; December, 19 and 37. |
