He explained, however, that farmers were free to sign contracts con-tracts with individual Japanese either on sharecrop or wage basis. Mr. Carpenter said that the slato committee is making arrangements ar-rangements with the office of labor la-bor to recruit Mexican nationals or German prisoners of war for use in mobile farm labor camps next year. He expressed confidence confi-dence that Cache county would receive a share of these imported workers. Officials of the Amalgamated Sugar company, California Packing Pack-ing corporation, Lewiston and West Cache tomato growers associations, as-sociations, the Cache pea growers grow-ers association and other cooperatives cooper-atives gave estimates on acreage and labor needs at the meeting. |
