Show Meetings Come to Close at Methodist Church The two weeks intensive campaign cam-paign to build up the church will close Sunday evening March the 29th. During these few days we have been pleased with the response re-sponse which came from those who were not members of this church, in their readiness to transfer their membership here. We may not receive the letter in time for Sunday's services and we therefore are planning a reception re-ception of members for Easter. It is within the range of possibility possi-bility that a Members Reception will take place Sunday. Bro. Zook will preach from the following subjects. Morning at 11 a. m. "And He went a little further." Evening Service at 7:45 p. m. "Christ at the Door." We are not satisfied with the way the folks line up with the only Protestant Church in the Canyon. If you do not cooperate, cooper-ate, we both lose. I suggest the following is worth reading Are We Taking Jesus in Earnest It is a question which the church may well ask itself today. to-day. A world of science, knowledge, know-ledge, culture, and progress answers: an-swers: "Yes." A world of sin, suffering, vice and selfishness says: "No." We do not know that, nearly two thousand years after the Son of God came to earth, the Kingdom of God has not yet been realized. Zealous disciples of heroic soul and humble heart have lived and blessed the world with their living. Not yet, however, how-ever, have they succeeded in bringing mankind to the foot of the Cross. It means that while some have been faithful, the multitudes who profess His name have not entered into the fullness of fellowship fel-lowship with Him. They acknowledge ac-knowledge Him, but they do not love Him with the all-consuming love that says: "Were the whole realm of nature na-ture mine, There were a present far too small, Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my life, my soul, my all." The acid test of our devotion may be interpreted in the light of the Scripture: "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Those who love their Lord will give to His cause abundantly, abun-dantly, gladly, continuously. As citizens of America, as Christians, Chris-tians, let us look to our position and to our possessions, and see what is the measure of our devotion. |
