O'Donnell spent Tuesday and Wednesday evening at Salt Lake City visit-ing friends. Mrs. C. D. Abol entertained the G. G. G. G. Club at her home on Monday evening A five oclock luncheon was served. Buffet style. 500 was played and the prizes awarded as follows ; First, Mrs. M. A. Cotter; consolation, Mrs. Art Maley. Word has been received in the camp announcing the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mi-la-of Los Angeles, California. Mr. and Mrs. Milano were form-er Bingham residents. Miss Marjorie Horsley was a Salt Lake visitor on Wednesday. Dahl-qui- st of Salt Lake City. The meeting was held as a Party for the boosting of business conditions. A lunch-eon was served and a general good time experienced. With contributions amounting to many dollars, a play ground equipment will immediately be installed for the use of the pupils who attend the Highland Boy School. The Highland Boy Min-ing Co., will erect an horizontal bar and will provide the neces-sary labor for the erection of the equipment. Dr. Young was re-cently married to Miss Mary Ail-ee- n Cannon one of Salt Lake charming young misses. They re-turned from their honeymoon trip which they spent on the coast, the past week. Dr. Young's many admirers in Bing ham are wishing him every suc-cess. Exceptional dramatic ability was demonstrated by members of the L. I). S. Church when they put on the play "Nothing but thee Truth, for three nights the past week at the L. D. S. Church. At each performance, in spite of many other attractions, each night the building was weli filled. Each member of the cast responded in remarkable fash-ion and showed the result of earnest preparation and excel-lent directorship. All the mem-bers showed good stage presence for amateurs, and not a week spot could be picked out of the entire cast. The cast was as follows: Robert Bennett Sheldon Chris tensen, E. M. Kalston b. W. R. Quackenbush of Salt Lake City was in camp on Wednesday demonstrating a new Shurlock lock for safes invented and pnt-ent- ed by an old friend Charlie Fowler of 62 West Broadway, Salt Lake City. Charlie has had some alluring offefs for his pat-ent and we congratulate him on his success. Funeral services were held at the Holy Rosary Church Tues-day with the Rev. Father John Lamb in charge. He was a member of the Local Order of P. L. A. N I. N. A., No. 83 whose members attended in a body to pay their last respects. Six of the members were also chosen as pall bearers. Steve Kosovich, President of the Association made the neces-sary arrangements. The casket was completely covered with beautiful floral tributes, two beautiful sprays were contrib-uted by the pupils of the Bing-ham High School. Many friends attended from Salt Lake City, Lark and other parts of the State. Interment was made in the Bingham Cemetery under the direction of the O'Donnell Un-dertaking Co. I George Vranes of Lark Dies George Vranes, born at Gos-pi- c, Croatia, Nov. 6, 1817, and a resident of the United States for the past twenty years died at the family home in Lark ear-ly Sunday morning. He had been ill for the past eighteen months and had taken treat- -' ments both at the County and at the Bingham Hospitals and ' for the last five months has been confined to his bed. Prior to his illness he was em- - . ployed as a carpenter by the Bingham Mines Co., at which time he won a wide circle of friends, who much respected him. The treatment of this kind of ore will prove a big saving for the mine-operato- rs of the State, and to the min-ing men of Bingham especially, as there are many zinc proper-ties now in this district that have been lying dormant, since there has been no facilities in this state to handle these ores, and paying freight out of the state prevented the shipment of lead-zin- c ores, as the rates were too excessive to make any pro-fits. Utah Apex Mining Co. Forges Ahead Last week's shipment of the Utah-Ape- x Mining Co. was four carloads ahetd of the biggest lead and silver producer hereto-fore in the camp, the United States Mining Co. shipping in one week the large amount of about 2500 tons. The January earnings of the company amount ed to $185,212.00. The February earnings were $155,000 while it is estimated the March earnings will amount to about $175,000. In the past six months the company has increased its em- - ployees from 300 to 700. Work on the 2400 foot level is being rushed where the company has just opened a heavily mineraliz-ed vein in the limestone. The ore that the company is shipping now is of a high grade about half of which goes direct to the smelter. At present the com-pany has the largest working capital account in its history, with its only debts, fixed or liq-uid, consisting of current oper-ating bills. Cash balances, cash and United States treasury cer-tificatesamount to $1,140,000. Copperfield Brevities The Sunshine girls club met with Miss Maxine Delaney at her home Saturday of last week.
