Show IT'S A GREAT ORGANIZATION Although some of the hurriedly formulated war protective agencies have folded by the wayside and let their personnel and organizations lag, there is one organization or-ganization in the United States that has clone splendid work in the past and is doing an even better job during dur-ing wartime. This organization is the Federal Bureau of Investi-gaiton Investi-gaiton known better by its "initial" name the FBI. Since the outbreak of the war two years ago, this group of specially picked and trained men, have probably prob-ably done more to prevent "internal sabotage" and hampering of our war effort, than any other single unit, un-it, local, state or national. Their work in control of aliens, rounding up of foreign agents and saboteurs, checking of draft delinquencies, and many other war time duties has been handled in first class shape in addition to their regular job of hunting down criminals crim-inals who have violated federal laws. And, while other groups have let wartime alertness lag, the FBI continues to prepare for any emergency by continuing its fine practice of conducting quarterly police schools throughout the nation, to provide latest methods of police work to local departments. In many cases the special agents have set up hypothetical hypo-thetical crime, sabotage and other problems, presented clues and then let police attending the schools, solve the "cases." They also give instruction in various branches of police work by agents who are specially trained in their field. While other agencies may let "fifth column work" continue silently throughout the nation, the people of the United States rest in comparative safety in the knowledge that the FBI never relaxes its vigilance nor its relentless war on the criminals and enemies of our country. |
