Show Board Conducts School Business Appointments, Resigna-j Resigna-j tions Approved at Meeting Approval of the yearly schedule, -lis resignation and appointment jf faculty members, a new insurance insur-ance program and a new transportation trans-portation schedule, featured the ; meeting Thursday of the Cache ounty school board, Superinten-ent Superinten-ent J. W. Kirkbride reported today. to-day. I.Ir. Kirkbride announced that -he board approved the tentative chedule of dismissing school on Thursday, December 23 to give ae students a one-day Christmas an December 24. Classwork will be L'sumed on Monday and continue -hroughout the holidays. He announced that effective Monday, classwork will begin at 10 a. m. instead of at the usual 9 a. m. hour and will continue until March 6. This time change was made to accommodate transportation trans-portation schedules by daylight and to conserve electrical energy at school buildings. Students will be dismissed at 4.30 p. m. instead of 3:30 throughout the period. The board granted leaves of obsence to John Broberg, basketball basket-ball coach and algebra teacher at South Cache high school and James Hess, physical education instructor in-structor at Lewiston Junior high school. These men will leave December De-cember 18 for service in the U. S. army. Replacing these teachers will be Cliff Poole, football coach at South Cache who will take over the entire athletic assignment; while Barson Goodey, who has been teaching social sciences at the Lewiston school, will replace Mr. Hess as physical education instructor. in-structor. No appointment has been made to the Lewiston faculty replacing re-placing Mr. Goodey. Mrs. Wallace Beutler of North Logan, was appointed assistant music and art teacher at that I school and the board approved a hot lunch kitchen to begin opera-' tion at Wellsville Junior high school next Monday. , . ' The board also placed their stamp ' of approval on revised insurance in-surance schedules that provide for replacement costs at present figures fig-ures in case of an emergency. |
